Keyboard cheat sheet

The cube listens while this page is focused. Combine with Shift for counter-clockwise and Alt for wide moves.

Face turns

  • UUp (top) layer โ€” clockwise
  • DDown (bottom) layer โ€” clockwise
  • FFront layer โ€” clockwise
  • BBack layer โ€” clockwise
  • LLeft layer โ€” clockwise
  • RRight layer โ€” clockwise

Slice turns

  • MMiddle slice (between L & R), follows L
  • EEquator slice (between U & D), follows D
  • SStanding slice (between F & B), follows F

Cube rotations

  • XRotate whole cube on R (x)
  • YRotate whole cube on U (y)
  • ZRotate whole cube on F (z)
  • Shift+X/Y/ZReverse rotation (x' y' z')

After a rotation every move โ€” including M, E and S โ€” is interpreted relative to the new orientation, exactly like a real cube.

Modifiers

  • ShiftCounter-clockwise (adds ') โ€” e.g. Shift+U = U'
  • AltWide (two layers) โ€” e.g. Alt+F = f (Fw)
  • Shift+AltWide counter-clockwise โ€” e.g. Shift+Alt+R = r'
Notation reminders: F = front clockwise ยท F' = front counter-clockwise (say "F prime") ยท F2 = front 180ยฐ. Lowercase letters (f r u) mean the outer two layers together (wide moves). You can also drag on the cube itself with your finger or mouse to turn faces directly.
